Prokopské údolí – climbing topo

The Prokopské údolí area is suitable for beginner climbers, who can try not only climbing, but also setting up loops, chocks, friends, etc. There are several harder routes from UIAA 7 for advanced climbers.

The area is located about 20 minutes by metro from the center of Prague and is suitable for climbing all year round.

Please behave respectfully in the area, do not step on the grass outside the paths, and do not leave any litter behind.

History

The rocks in Prokopské údolí were discovered in 1979 by Pavel Schwarz (* 05.12.1957 – † 11.07.1979), who made most of the first ascents. This promising Prague climber died in the Himalayas in the same year.

Later, in 2015, Reinhard Streif began working in Prokopské údolí, specifically in the Borová skála sector. He cleaned the entire new sector – Amfiteátr – and is the author of almost 20 routes there.

In the same year as Reinhard, Matrin “Valmar” Válek made several boulder problems on the original training rock under Borová skála.
